چکیده
Innate immunity is an evolutionary ancient defence strategy that serves to eliminate infectious agents while maintaining host health. It involves a complex network of sensors, signaling proteins and immune effectors detect the danger, then relay execute programme. Post-translational modifications relying on conserved ubiquitin ubiquitin-like are integral part system. Studies using invertebrate models infection, such as nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, have greatly contributed our understanding how ubiquitin-related processes act in sensing, regulate pathways, participate responses. This review highlights interest working with genetically tractable model organism illustrates C. elegans has been used identify ubiquitin-dependent mechanisms, discover novel ubiquitin-based resistance strategies mediate pathogen clearance, unravel role tolerance, preserving fitness during attack. Special emphasis placed mammals.

Innate immunity in C. elegans.
The nematode Caenorhabditis elegans is proving to be a powerful invertebrate model to study host-pathogen interactions. In common with other invertebrates, C. elegans relies solely on its innate immune system to defend itself against pathogens. Studies of the nematode response to infection with various fungal and bacterial pathogens have revealed that the innate immune system of C. elegans empl...

The roundworm C. elegans has been successfully used for more than 50 y as a genetically tractable invertebrate model in diverse biological fields such as neurobiology, development and interactions. C. elegans feeds on bacteria and can be naturally infected by a wide range of microorganisms, including viruses, bacteria and fungi. Most of these pathogens infect C. elegans through its gut, but som...
متن کاملUbiquitin in Influenza Virus Entry and Innate Immunity
Viruses are obligatory cellular parasites. Their mission is to enter a host cell, to transfer the viral genome, and to replicate progeny whilst diverting cellular immunity. The role of ubiquitin is to regulate fundamental cellular processes such as endocytosis, protein degradation, and immune signaling. Many viruses including influenza A virus (IAV) usurp ubiquitination and ubiquitin-like modif...
متن کاملUbiquitin in the activation and attenuation of innate antiviral immunity
Viral infection activates danger signals that are transmitted via the retinoic acid-inducible gene 1-like receptor (RLR), nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor (NLR), and Toll-like receptor (TLR) protein signaling cascades. This places host cells in an antiviral posture by up-regulating antiviral cytokines including type-I interferon (IFN-I). Ubiquitin modifications and cross-...
متن کاملDeep Proteome Analysis Identifies Age-Related Processes in C. elegans
Effective network analysis of protein data requires high-quality proteomic datasets. Here, we report a near doubling in coverage of the C. elegans adult proteome, identifying >11,000 proteins in total with ∼9,400 proteins reproducibly detected in three biological replicates. Using quantitative mass spectrometry, we identify proteins whose abundances vary with age, revealing a concerted downregu...
